Vascular access: creating dialysis patient’s lifeline
For decades, patients with failing kidneys have been sustained by haemodialysis, or dialysis for short – the process of removing the blood from the body, filtering it through a machine, and returning it back to the body. Today dialysis is a life-saving option for over 400,000 people in Europe, usually in the form of several treatments per week. No matter the cause of kidney failure, every dialysis patient must have a vascular access created which is considered the haemodialysis patient’s lifeline.
Join our live panel as international experts provide an overview of current guidelines, the patient pathway and discuss treatment options for creating vascular access and the interdisciplinary approach to managing end stage renal diseases.
