Become a CIRSE Fellow

CIRSE fellowship honours longstanding CIRSE members for their contributions to interventional radiology. I would like to encourage more CIRSE members to apply for fellowship in the coming years!

CIRSE Fellowship honours physicians and scientists who have made a significant contribution to interventional radiology and/or cardiovascular imaging techniques. In addition to the broad range of services and benefits offered to all CIRSE members, CIRSE Fellows benefit from the exclusive right to apply for election to a position on the CIRSE Executive Committee and the CIRSE Executive Board. Please note that this does not apply to corresponding fellows.

Definitions

Fellows are physicians and scientists residing in Europe who have made a significant contribution to interventional radiology and/or cardiovascular imaging techniques and are actively contributing to the work of the society.

Corresponding fellows are physicians and scientists who either reside outside of Europe and/or have completed relevant medical specialty training other than radiology and/or interventional radiology. Applicants for corresponding fellowship must have made a significant contribution to interventional radiology and/or cardiovascular imaging techniques and must be actively contributing to the work of the society.

All requirements to be met by future fellows are outlined in the fellows requirements catalogue.

Why become a CIRSE Fellow?

Fellowship is an honour bestowed by CIRSE upon individual physicians and scientists who have proven their professional contribution to interventional radiology and to the society.

Successful applicants have the honour to call themselves CIRSE Fellows in their official signature or other documents. Fellows and corresponding fellows are also invited to the CIRSE president’s dinner in the year they become fellows, and are listed on the table of honours at the annual congress.

Only European fellows can stand for election for positions on the CIRSE Executive Board and Executive Committee, and may be selected to take part in new projects, initiatives or working groups.

Application process

Only online applications via the online CIRSE fellowship application process can be accepted.

Please make sure that you meet all listed requirements and that you have all requested documentation at hand. You may then proceed by clicking the  application button to start the online process.

You will be able to request confirmations of your contributions to the society by contacting the individual departments. For more information, please consult the fellowship requirements catalogue and see the table below for the individual forms.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. All submissions before April 30 will be evaluated in time for CIRSE 2024, where successful applicants will be published on the wall of honours and invited to the president’s dinner. Submissions after April 30 will be considered for CIRSE 2025.
