Become a fellow

CIRSE fellowship honours longstanding CIRSE members for their contributions to interventional radiology. I would like to encourage more CIRSE members to apply for fellowship in the coming years!

CIRSE Fellowship honours physicians and scientists who have made a significant contribution to interventional radiology and/or cardiovascular imaging techniques. In addition to the broad range of services and benefits offered to all CIRSE members, CIRSE Fellows privilege from the exclusive right to apply for election to a position on the CIRSE Executive Committee and the CIRSE Executive Board. Please note that this does not apply to Corresponding Fellows.

Application criteria

Members may apply for the fellowship if they fulfill the following criteria

  • The candidate has been a CIRSE member in good standing for at least three years.
  • The candidate finished his/her medical specialty training at least five years ago.
  • The candidate has successfully passed EBIR or has the support of two CIRSE fellows confirming his/her aptitude to become a fellow. (Both supporters may not be corresponding fellows, in this case, at least one supporter must be residing in the EU as a CIRSE fellow). For a list of current CIRSE fellows, please log into the myCIRSE area.
  • The candidate must have published at least five articles on a cardiovascular and interventional radiology topic, in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed scientific journals with an impact factor. The applicant must have been first author of at least one of these five articles. One article must have been published in CVIR or one of CVIR associated journals with an impact factor. Case reports and letters to the editors are to be excluded.
