MRI-guided interventions represent one of the most exciting developments in interventional radiology, combining the excellent soft-tissue visualization of magnetic resonance imaging with the precision of minimally invasive procedures. As MRI-compatible devices and dedicated interventional systems continue to evolve, the range of procedures that can be performed under MRI guidance is steadily expanding.

Organized by Prof. Afshin Gangi and Prof. Roberto Luigi Cazzato, this ESIR course will introduce participants to the current state of interventional MRI, covering both established applications and emerging techniques. Experts will share their experience with MRI-guided biopsies, tumour ablation, prostate interventions, and novel therapeutic approaches, while also discussing workflow, equipment, and the practical challenges of working in the MRI environment.

Combining expert teaching with practical workshops, the course will offer participants the unique opportunity to work with the latest state-of-the-art MRI technology and experience its capabilities first-hand. Participants will gain valuable insight into the possibilities and limitations of MRI-guided interventions and how these techniques can be integrated into contemporary clinical practice.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for interventional radiologists who have completed their radiology training and are interested in fine-tuning their practical skills and learning more about the current treatment options for routine as well as technically challenging cases.
