Frequently asked questions
The application deadline for fellowship grants in the 2026 funding cycle was February 09, 2026. The call for applications for the 2027 funding cycle will go out at the end of 2026. Stay tuned!
Each candidate can request the contact details of up to three training centres from [email protected] to discuss preliminary arrangements. The candidate then must choose one institution for their application.
Applicants can only submit one application to a single hosting institution per funding cycle. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully select an institution beforehand that matches their objectives.
The review board will assess quality and overall coherence of the educational project and the suitability of the chosen hosting institution. Candidates are advised to include their main motivation, current practice, specific educational needs, and linked goals for their fellowship in the motivation letter.
All applications will be reviewed by an independent review board and scored according to predefined criteria. The best applicants will be offered a fellowship grant. All applicants will be notified by March 31, 2026 about whether their application has been successful.
No, you can use the login details of your myCIRSE account to access the application portal.
All CIRSE members in good standing, including corresponding members and junior members, who have submitted all required documents will be considered for a fellowship grant.
Candidates must submit their application via an online application portal. For this, you will need your myCIRSE login details. Make sure to have your motivation letter, a recommendation letter from your current head of department, a letter from your hosting institution (please find a template here), a budget plan, and the completed application form ready.
Applicants for the 2026 funding cycle will be notified by March 31, 2026 about whether they will be awarded a fellowship grant.
Only interventional radiologists are eligible to receive a grant, as the aim of the fellowship grant programme is to support interventional radiology worldwide by offering interventional radiologists a unique training opportunity at a recommended training centre in Europe.
