Artificial intelligence and robotic innovations in non-oncological interventional radiology

Thursday, September 24, 2026, 17:00 – 18:30 CEST

Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic technologies are rapidly transforming the field of interventional radiology, offering new opportunities to enhance precision, safety, and efficiency across a wide range of non-oncological procedures. This webinar will provide an overview of the fundamental principles of AI, machine learning, and deep learning, and explore how these technologies are being applied in vascular, hepatobiliary, musculoskeletal, and pulmonary interventions. Participants will gain insight into the latest innovations in procedural planning, patient selection, image guidance, navigation, and robotic-assisted interventions that are shaping the future of minimally invasive care.

The session will also examine the role of AI in dose optimization, image quality enhancement, and post-procedural assessment and follow-up, highlighting its potential to improve clinical outcomes and workflow efficiency. In addition, speakers will discuss key challenges related to data quality, validation, implementation, and regulatory considerations, while providing a forward-looking perspective on emerging research and future opportunities. Designed for the interventional radiology community, this webinar will equip attendees with the knowledge needed to understand, evaluate, and integrate AI-driven and robotic solutions into routine non-oncological interventional practice.

Learning objectives

  • Understand how AI improves patient selection and procedural planning in non-oncological interventional radiology.
  • Evaluate the use of AI for real-time procedural guidance and risk prediction.
  • Identify practical applications of AI in vascular, embolization, and complex endovascular procedures.
  • Assess how robotic systems enhance precision, consistency, and procedural efficiency.
  • Recognize the role of AI in follow-up, quality improvement, and clinical workflow integration.
