Spine interventions: Advanced indications, Cagliari/IT, June 5-6, 2025

Percutaneous interventions in the spine constitute a field which continues to evolve rapidly. Advanced techniques include a wide variety of procedures (percutaneous implant techniques, percutaneous tumour ablation, percutaneous interspinous spacers implants, basivertebral nerve ablation, facet or sacroiliac fixation with screws, microendoscopy, robotic navigation) which provide therapies for different spine pathologies including back pain of several origins (vertebral fractures, facet pain, vertebrogenic pain), cancer pain, neurologic intermittent claudication, sacroliac joint pain. During the last decade, numerous changes and developments have been added to the therapeutic armamentarium and are available for providing these procedures to appropriate patients. Proper patient selection is a prerequisite for a patient-tailored therapeutic approach whilst technical knowledge and skills along with high-quality imaging guidance ensure safety and efficacy.

This course will discuss indications and technical performance of advanced spine procedures such as vertebral augmentation with implants, percutaneous tumour ablation, percutaneous intrerspinous spacers (dynamic or fusion) for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis or instability, percutaneous screws implant for facet and SI fixation, basivertebral nerve ablation for the treatment of vertebrogenic pain, microendoscopy, robotic navigation. Extensive hands-on workshops on spine models will provide delegates with the opportunity of performing these procedures in a safe environment, mastering the necessary technical skills, and learning tips and tricks for a safe and efficacious approach.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for interventional radiologists who have completed their training and are interested in further developing their practical skills and updating their knowledge.
