Endovascular treatment of juxtarenal aortic aneurysms, Budapest/HU, May 28-29, 2026

Juxtarenal aortic aneurysms present unique anatomical and technical challenges for endovascular repair, requiring careful planning, device selection, and precise execution. Recent advances in imaging, device technology, and adjunctive techniques have expanded treatment possibilities, but they have also highlighted the importance of understanding anatomical variations, hostile neck configurations, and complex access issues.

Physicians participating in this year’s ESIR workshop will gain a rare opportunity to combine focused expert lectures with extensive hands-on experience using advanced EVAR planning tools, delivery systems, and high-fidelity simulators. Participants will practice basic EVAR and iliac branch device procedures, rupture management strategies, and the use of endoanchors in challenging scenarios.

Lectures will address the indications for intervention, device selection and IFU adherence, technical tips and tricks, and strategies for managing inadequate landing zones or poor femoral/iliac access. Experts will present real-world cases and demonstrate how to approach complex anatomy, optimize procedural planning, and avoid common pitfalls.

Hands-on sessions will be delivered in small groups, enabling delegates to refine wire and catheter skills, explore device deployment in challenging anatomies, and rehearse emergency responses to intra-procedural complications. The course will also include case-based discussions on risk management and bailout techniques, encouraging interactive problem-solving with faculty input.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have an enhanced understanding of the full spectrum of endovascular options for juxtarenal aortic aneurysm repair, and will be equipped with practical skills and strategies to apply in their own clinical practice.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for interventional radiologists who have completed their radiology training and are interested in fine-tuning their practical skills and learning more about the current treatment options for routine as well as technically challenging cases.

To emphasize the importance of a multidisciplinary aortic team, attending interventional radiologists are encouraged to bring their non-radiologist colleagues of the same team under a team registration with a reduced fee.

Registration

Please note that this course is open only to interventional radiologists who have completed their radiology training. To further multidisciplinary team building, any medical specialist may attend this course together with an interventional radiologist from the same hospital under the registration type “Team fee”.

The registration fees are as follows:

Early fee
(until April 2, 2026)
Regular fee
(as of April 3, 2026)
Course registration (CIRSE member*)€ 610€ 720
Course registration (CIRSE member*) - team**€ 820€ 1030
Course registration€ 710€ 940
Course registration – team**€ 1130€ 1460

To attend the ESIR courses as a member, CIRSE membership fee for the year of the course must be settled.

Interventional radiologists attending the course may bring with them a colleague from the same hospital with whom they work together in a multidisciplinary team. These two physicians will then be able to attend the ESIR course under the “team fee”. A copy of a medical license/certificate listing the specialty of the teammate will be required and needs to be uploaded. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

These fees include:

  • Course attendance
  • Teaching material for the course
  • Coffee breaks
  • Lunch on the first day
