Endovascular interventions for type B aortic dissection

Thursday, February 5, 2026, 17:00-18:30 CET

Type B acute aortic dissection (TBAAD) can be a life-threatening condition that demands prompt treatment to mitigate complications and improve patient outcomes. In recent years, endovascular therapy has become a preferred option for managing this complex condition, especially in cases involving acute complications.

This CIRSE webinar aims to equip IRs with the knowledge and skills needed to play a leading role in the multidisciplinary care of aortic diseases. Attendees will gain insight into the current approaches for managing type B dissections, learn about the available technical solutions, and understand the critical anatomical factors involved in patient selection and procedural planning. The session will also explore the advantages and limitations of using endovascular stent-grafts in these cases. Given that IRs are often the primary endovascular specialists in many healthcare systems, this webinar also aims to promote knowledge-sharing in the field of endovascular aortic repair and to inspire junior IRs and emerging consultants to become more actively involved in this challenging and important area of practice.

Learning objectives

  1. To understand the current management of type B aortic dissection
  2. To learn the technical options to treat complicated and uncomplicated type B dissection
  3. To define the anatomical information required in case selection and planning
  4. To understand the advantages and limitations of endovascular stent-grafts for aortic dissections
