Attend an IR congress
Let us inspIRe you! CIRSE invites undergraduate medical students to its congresses free of charge, hence giving them the opportunity to learn more about one of the most dynamic, innovative and rapidly growing areas of medicine – interventional radiology!
September 10-14 in Barcelona, Spain
The CIRSE Annual Congress is Europe’s premier meeting in IR, offering thousands of participants numerous scientific sessions, discussions on the newest medical developments, representation from major medical companies and insights into the latest technical innovations.
The last annual physical meeting took place in Barcelona in September 2019 and welcomed 348 medical students from 30 countries. In 2020 and 2021, we organised virtual CIRSE Summit which welcomed more than 300 students. Just to name a few features of the CIRSE Student Programme: medical students are invited to attend the “Introducing IR” lecture, take part at hands-on training sessions, network with experienced IRs at a mentoring breakfast, and test their newly gained IR knowledge at the students’ quiz. Last but not least, CIRSE also organises a social evening for all CIRSE Student Programme participants that bring all of them together.
Are you interested in participating in the upcoming CIRSE Student Programme? As a student you can register for CIRSE 2022 for free!

We are again planning to organise a “Students on Stage” session that allows six students whose abstracts were accepted to present their educational work to their peers. All medical students with interest in IR who have submited their abstracts for CIRSE 2022 will soon be notified if they will be among the ones who will have the chance to take the stage in Barcelona!
Last but not least, if you have EU/EFTA citizenship, study at a university in an EU/EFTA country, and have attended the IR Introductory lecture on the first congress day (Saturday, September 10, 08:30-09:30), you are eligible for €200 travel support for CIRSE 2022. Those who qualify for travel support will automatically be considered upon completion of congress registration and notified accordingly via email. Grants are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis upon completion of registration, so apply early!
