COVID-19 event updates
The health and safety of our community is our top priority and our thoughts are with the affected patients and healthcare staff in these difficult times.
Due to the spreading COVID-19 pandemic throughout the world and the uncertainty regarding its further development and the severity and duration of restrictions on travel and gatherings in Europe, CIRSE has decided not to hold physical conferences or courses until the end of the year 2020.
Furthermore, the CIRSE leadership would like to provide our community with the following information:
The CIRSE annual meeting was held from Sept. 12-15 as an online-only event instead of the physical meeting originally planned to take place in Munich. By offering a virtual congress, CIRSE provided a safe and reliable platform for knowledge exchange to IRs around the world, regardless of the situation in their country or their ability to travel. To access all sessions, posters and free paper presentations from the CIRSE 2020 Summit on demand, visit the Summit website.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ECIO 2020 will not take place as a physical meeting. In order to ensure continued education in interventional oncology, the ECIO scientific programme committee is transferring the ECIO 2020 programme to a series of webinars. To find out about the webinars of ECIO virtual, Interventional Oncology 2.0., and get a sneak peek at the programme for ECIO 2021 to take place in Stockholm from April 11-14, please visit the ECIO website.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to update you on ICCIR. When we postponed ICCIR to December earlier this year, we were very hopeful that by winter it would again be possible to meet in person. Sadly, COVID-19 is still far from being contained and the uncertainty involved in planning an in-person event at this point has given us no choice but to take the difficult decision that ICCIR will not take place in 2020.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to update you on ET. When we postponed ET to December earlier this year, we were very hopeful that by winter it would again be possible to meet in person. Sadly, COVID-19 is still far from being contained and the uncertainty involved in planning an in-person event at this point has given us no choice but to take the difficult decision that ET will not take place in 2020.
ESIR Courses, European School of Interventional Radiology
All ESIR courses planned in 2020 have been postponed to 2021. We are currently evaluating new date options and will announce them as soon as available.
Please visit the websites of the individual meeting you are interested for further information and to check for regular updates.
CIRSE is grateful for the ongoing support and professionalism of its community of healthcare professionals, members, registrants, corporate partners and other stakeholders who are promoting factual and helpful information.
