An increasing number of interventional radiologists are involved in intra-arterial stroke therapy; an upcoming therapeutic concept in acute cerebral stroke. Local thrombolysis
as well as mechanical thrombectomy seem to have great potential. Several devices are on the market for thrombectomy of the intracranial arterial circulation.
During this workshop the participants will have the opportunity to test several devices specifically designed for intracranial thrombectomy on a flow model under the supervision of recognized experts in this field.
Learning objectives
- To get to know the principles of intracranial thrombectomy
- To become familiar with different devices
- To learn technical tricks for different devices
- To learn to set the right indication for intracranial thrombectomy
